Hello! I have finally returned to the blog life and I am incredibly excited!
It is officially summer time and out of the blue, I realized just how much I wish it were Autumn! The idea of being sticky, hot, bitten and cat called made me remeber just how much I wished everyone were all inside and bundled up. I miss the shades of orange and browns and the nice cool breeze.
Finally, I realized that since I can’t change the weather I might as well get into the Autumnal mood by reading some books!
Now, if you feel the same as I do. Here are some awesome books I think you should pick up!
A Darker Shade of Magic by V.E Schwab

I read this book last summer and I think this book is both a summer and a fall read. the magic within this story is comforting as well as the amazingness of women who can beat up men and there are also queer people!
I found comfort in traveling between worlds and there being royalty. This was an amazing read!

This book is really the inspiration for this post because once I read this book, I was looking up autumn aesthetic on tumblr to get into the energy of the cold weather I so desperately wanted.
That said, there is a wlw relationship that I loved so very much as well as the amazing eeriness that comes with Halloween time.

I would kill for a female assassin and that is exactly what this book gives you! Mia is so fucking badass and if you read the very first page of the book, will come to and end eventually but for now. I am in love with her and Jay Kristoff’s writing.
Magic and Halloween obviously go hand in hand. Cassandra Clare writes about the fantastic world of vampires and werewolves along with the amazing shadowhunters. I read this book during summer and immediately fell in live with reading the series. It was so engrossing.
City of Ghosts by Victoria Schwab
Cassidy Blake’s parents are The Inspecters, a (somewhat inept) ghost-hunting team. But Cass herself can REALLY see ghosts. In fact, her best friend, Jacob, just happens to be one.
When The Inspecters head to ultra-haunted Edinburgh, Scotland, for their new TV show, Cass—and Jacob—come along. In Scotland, Cass is surrounded by ghosts, not all of them friendly. Then she meets Lara, a girl who can also see the dead. But Lara tells Cassidy that as an In-betweener, their job is to send ghosts permanently beyond the Veil. Cass isn’t sure about her new mission, but she does know the sinister Red Raven haunting the city doesn’t belong in her world. Cassidy’s powers will draw her into an epic fight that stretches through the worlds of the living and the dead, in order to save herself.
This beautiful middle grade novel written by one of my favorite authors, explores ghosts… obviously. It’s creepy and fun. I read this book last year while in a reading slump and was lifted out of it after reading this book.
Three Dark Crowns by Kendare Blake

This books is dark and murdery and I love it!!!! Ahh! I dove into this book last year and fell madly in love. I can’t wait until the next book. They are all on one magical island where three sister queens need to fight to their deaths in order to become queen of the island. It’s so damn good!
The Diviners by Libba Bray

There are ghosts and people with abilities but most importantly GHOSTS! I remember reading this book and getting scared. It’s dark and creepy and ever so lovely. I am definitely going to read it again before summer ends.

I fell in love. Like seriously, there are magic and laylines and adventurous little shits trying to find a dead king. This book has witches as well. Omg! So good! I love it!
